This is the Beginning....

With 2015 starting TOMORROW,  I thought it was a good time to start off a blog for my cards (and other crafty projects...we will see). Since joining Stampin' Up, I have very slowly gotten myself organized but now I think I am ready. This morning I wanted to work with some of the stamp sets that I ordered in my demonstrator kit. I wouldn't say they are seasonal but both stamp sets have such pretty flowers!

This card is on a Rich Razzleberry base that I ran through the Big Shot (woohoo Christmas present!) using the decorative dots embossing folder. I stamped the Blended Bloom stamp and attempted to use Rich Razzleberry blendabilities (which are awesome but I want to practice more...and what a great stamp to try with!). The sentiment is from the Endless Birthday Wishes set and is stamped in Hello Honey. This was mounted onto a Hello Honey piece of cardstock before finishing it with a little bit of bling!

My second card uses the Flower Patch set, which allows you to do some layered stamping. I saw something similar on Pinterest that I wanted to give a shot. I used the colours Wisteria Wonder and Blackberry bliss to stamp both the flowers and the sentiment on a piece of Whisper White cardstock. I trimmed the edges of the flowers before gluing the cardstock to a Blackberry Bliss base. SOMEHOW I managed to get ink all over my hands and that would contribute to the small smudges but I still think it is a pretty card that I might try again.

I'm really looking forward to using some of the new stamps from the Occasions Catalogue and Sale-A-Bration coming out next week. Plus the whole next year will be me learning a little bit more about stamping and techniques that I can't wait to show! I hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year!

  1. I really like your Flower Patch card, Jenna. Trimming around the flowers gives such an interesting element over just a square layer.
