I know, I know. I have been 100% MIA. Between this being the busy time for me at work and taking a course and the new activities that come with better weather...I have not had as much time to craft as I wanted to. This project today has been made in sections for the last couple of weeks and I am quite happy with it! I love the bokeh technique (I think the picture does an ok job showing it....it looks like sun spots almost).
The colours that I used were So saffron, soft sky and pear pizzaz..all light colours. I used a circle stencil and whisper white craft ink to do the bokeh technique. I used the balloon from celebrate today (one of my favourites!) and the adorable little elephant is from the zoo babies set (If you haven't seen that one before, check it out here)
I'm sorry this post is brief, but I didn't want everyone thinking I forgot about this! I hope in the next couple of weeks to get all of my ideas into card form:)

Spring Birthday
We have a birthday party this weekend and I figure, one year olds don't REALLY care what their card looks like. So I can make it however I want to then right? Sticking with the very simple designs and my inability to take good pictures, I present this project to you!
I started by using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing folder on the Whisper white Cardstock. I then used some scraps from the Sweet Dreams Designer Series paper to make the little banners with a little bit of All is Calm Washi tape (on the Clearance Rack right now! And you get tons of it). I stamped the cake image from the Sale A Bration set, and the sentiment from the Petite pairs set. After using the scalloped tag punch, I added a little extra with the Sweet Dreams button.
I love the whole Sweet Dream set! Both the DSP and buttons are so cute! Stampin Up even has them on their own blog this week...check it out: http://www.stampinup.com/home/en-CA/
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Countdown until Sale-A-Bration is done!
Good Morning! Important news. Sale-A-Bration is done in less than 72 hours. If you haven't been following along, SAB means you get free product for every $60 of merchandise you purchase. Are there some really cool things to get? You betcha! One of my favourite sets in the whole thing is a the Big Day stamp set, so I figured I would show you an example I did a couple of weeks ago for a party. I found the idea on Pinterest and LOVED it!
The picture doesn't really do it justice. I used Coastal Cabana cardstock and layered a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock and Birthday Bash Designer Series Paper. On the piece of Whisper White Cardstock, I stamped the pieces of the set in Momento black and then all there was left to do was colour! This set is cool, because the "Happy Birthday", Celebrate your big day with cake", the cake itself and another sentiment that says "and perhaps a little ice cream" lets this set be versatile and you can make so many different kinds of birthday cards (among a few others!).
If you want this set, or any of the other Sale- A-Bration (there are new additions here too!), I will be putting in an order before Tuesday night so let me know! ( I have my eye on the cool vellum paper!)
Have a great Sunday!

Spring Time
Happy St. Paddy's Day! And if you are not celebrating, Happy-Almost-Officially-Spring! It isn't exactly fair for it to be so nice and sunny with brutal winds! But better than minus 40 degree weather so I say things are looking up!
On the weekend I got to do another card party! I love the practice and especially love seeing people so happy with their cards. I made a very spring looking card for one of the projects and everyone's turned out so well! I am not going to tell you what I stamped on the inside in case a certain person is reading...I'd rather them be surprised when they get it! (As always, my photography skills haven't exactly improved...please forgive!)
The Sheltering Tree stamp set from the 2015 Occasions Catalogue MIGHT be my favourite. I stamped the grass image along the bottom in Pistachio Pudding. I then stamped the tree in Sahara Sand, adding the leaves in Pistachio Pudding with Blushing Bride accents. Along the bottom I added little stems in Wild Wasabi, with the flowers again in Blushing Bride. I punched out a little butterfly in the Vellum paper and added some rhinestones for some bling! This card is so versatile, it can be a just because, a thank you, a Mother's Day card or you can switch up the sentiment to make it a birthday card or thinking of you. SOOOO many options!

Creative Blog Hop
Happy Monday Everyone! (And for fellow Bachelor watchers, Happy finale!). Last week, I was nominated by Leena (She is absolutely amazing...check her out! http://alacards.blogspot.ca/) to take part in a Creative Blog Hop! So I finished my project, another very simple one, and I will then answer the questions below!
I have temporarily decided against the watermark. My poor computer is getting older and doesn't love the software. ANYWAY. This card has a lot of green (because obviously that is all I want with the snow slowly starting to melt). I used the Old Olive Blendabilities to colour a piece of Irresistibly Yours DSP, allowing for the design to show through (a side note, they are temporary not able to be ordered while they work out a potential product issue....but this is way better than getting something that doesn't work and they will hopefully be back soon!). The tree was stamped from the Sheltering Tree Set with Sahara Sand and Garden Green leaves.
Alright now for my questions:
What are you working on now?
I have a party this weekend, so making sure I have all of the projects ready!
How does your work differ from others in your genre?
I guarantee it probably doesn't. I am still pretty new to this overall so many of my projects stem from things I have seen on Pinterest or other blogs. Sometimes I just use the exact project and other times I just get some kind of inspiration, such as a totally different project but with the same colour combinations.
Why do you create what you do?
I always love to do crafty things. Whether it be a cork board made out of wine corks (one of my personal favourites) or decorating picture frames, I like to try different projects. I think it is so great to be able to give someone a card that you have made. They really appreciate the effort that you put into (my Granny especially is a great supporter...my Christmas card is still up at her house!). It's nice to have something that gives me a creative outlet when I need it.
How does your creative process work?
I learned that if there is a specific stamp set I want to use, I just type the name of it into Pinterest with Stampin' Up. You can see so many great designs that will provide that inspiration needed. Occasionally, a start of an idea will come to me in different times (end of a yoga class, driving home from work...) and it starts to form. I am sure the more I do it, the more those random thoughts will come to me.
Thanks for reading! I will be nominating my people tomorrow (sorry, it is bedtime! Daylight Savings Time hasn't hit me yet so I am worried it will get me tomorrow). And check out the blog later this week for some more ideas that I will be using for the party this weekend!

Wedding Bells
My name is Jenna and I am addicted to Netflix. To be fair, it is truly my partner that is addicted (...ok, maybe me a little). I have just finished a House of Cards Marathon, so I didn't get as much for crafting as I wanted done this weekend. However, I do have one for you! Please forgive the poor picture quality, I really need to find the best spot to take pictures (that, and learn to be patient enough to take good ones).
I am getting to the age where my own friends are getting married. I have a few this summer. One is getting married this August. One of her wedding colours is pretty much exactly Coastal Cabanna, a colour that I love from the 2013-2015 In Colour Collection. I thought incorporating it into a card idea for her would work great!

I used a Coastal Cabanna card base, with layers of Whisper White and Sahara Sand. I love the Artisan Embellishment Kit that is in the Occasions Catalogue. It provided the flower cut out as well as the embellishment on the Sahara Sand lace ribbon (which is soooo pretty...unfortunately, it cannot be ordered right now). The sentiment is from the Your Perfect Day set, stamped in Sahara Sand, with the little hearts done in Coastal Cabanna.
I haven't decided if this will actually be the card that I give to her, but it was fun to start to play with ideas for it! I know it is really simple, but I think it works. I'd love to hear your thoughts!
I hope everyone has a great (and hopefully even marginally warmer) week!

Birthday Balloons!
...Annnnd I am back! I apologize that I have been a little MIA...somehow 2015 is already flying by and this month has been out of control. But I have been doing lots of crafting! Today I have another card using the Celebrate Today stamp set (I LOVE it... who doesn't love balloons? Specifically paper ones because I know for some reason some people don't like real ones).
I stamped the balloon in Coastal Cabanna on a piece of vellum paper, letting it dry to prevent really inky fingers (learn from my experience). On the reverse side, I heat embossed the confetti in white. The bottom part is from the Birthday Bash Designer Series Paper (DSP). Everything was put together on piece of Whisper White Cardstock on Hello Honey Cardstock and then mounted on Night of Navy. All of the colours on the card can be found through the Birthday Bash DSP collection. Great colours right?
Hope you like it!
